Won't you ease my mind?

Is anything ever really yours?  Have you ever really thought about it?  I mean, look around you.  Name one thing that you can truly possess, that isn't going to die, isn't going to fall apart.

People pass away, object break, get lost or stolen.  What is truly yours?  It's easy to not care about the material things, and sometimes, even people.  But when you give yourself the impression that something is actually yours?  Losing them is the scariest thing in the whole world.

Maybe Elizabeth Blake was wrong, the art of losing isn't easy.  It's just something we all get use to.

On a more metaphysical note, Jonba is asleep in a box.

Call me, call me,
Let me know it's all right.
Call me, call me,
Don'cha think it's 'bout time?

That goes with the song I was listening to! I know, I have weird moments where OMG the world is crashing down and heaven help us all. They all pass and the world continues on as normal.

Though that was cheerful!

I understand the impermanence of things. Much as I collect things, I know that they can all disappear in a moment. Or I will tire of them and sell them. People are more important to me. I want them with me for as long as I have in this world.

[identity profile] sweetsalome.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 11:16 am (UTC)(link)
You are better then most people. Some people just take what they want and then toss people and things away. They treat people no better then something they would buy at a store.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
People are far more important. Those who treat people as if they are things are empty inside.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-19 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
My, aren't you the enternal optimist? You've never used anyone for your own gain?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
No, I have not. *The tone is glacial.*

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
I find that hard to believe. Are you a liar like her?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I do not consider people to be insects as you do. I have never had a reason to "step" on anyone.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I don't think people are insects, not at all. I have no idea what kind of impression you have of me, but work very hard to lift up the people around me.

Not "step" on them.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
Really. By intimidation? I do not calling that lifting the people around you.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-20 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Who have I intimidated? I have quite the reputation, clearly you've been listening to her.

I wonder, is it the smile, or the fact that she'll fuck you whenever you want it?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
Of course I listen to her. After all, it is wise to listen to one's future wife.

Your daughter has a wonderful sense of humor, a beautiful spirit and certainly a gorgeous smile. I love her for who she is.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 11:15 am (UTC)(link)
Future . . . You make a mistake thinking you could decide something like that without consulting me, Mr. Nakamura. Despite what she may have told you, I am still head of this household!

She is a liar and a manipulator, the moment you don't give her what she wants she'll turn on you as she turned on me.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
She is 18, sir. The law allows her to make whatever decision she likes in all matters.

You claim she is a liar and manipulator, yet you are the one in jail.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
She's nothing more then a child, and you know that. Matters of the law are one thing, but if she wants what she believes is owed to her monetarily, then she will respect my wishes.

That was a misunderstanding, seeing as though I am now free, with the courts apologies. Isn't the American justice system amazing? It's only because of her that I was there in the first place.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
She is only a child to you. She retains a gentle spirit, despite what you have done, which you mistake for childishness.

Because she had the courage to wish justice done. However, you have enough money to manipulate the system.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
What I have done? Clearly you are under some great delusion which I am sure she provided you with. I have done nothing, which is not what she wanted, that's how this all started in the first place. I hate to break it to you, Mr. Nakamura, but she's not the gentle, innocent spirit which you think. I have proof of that.

It was a mistake and I did whatever was necessary to correct that mistake.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 12:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Did I say innocent? That you robbed her of.

*He makes no comment. He knows how this will go.*

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-21 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
*He gave an angry, barking laugh.* I robbed her of nothing. I spoiled her and gave her everything a little girl could have ever wanted.

You are foolish little man, I thought your people were suppose to be smart.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
Then why does she feel such a need to get away from you, if you gave her everything she wanted?

And how am I foolish? Listening to her? So far I have heard little reason not to.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
I gave her everything but what she really wanted. Do you really want to tell me why she is behaving like this? She is nothing more then a woman scorned, I insulted her by not giving in.

Yes, for listening to her you are foolish. That's true, I bet she's really convincing on her back.

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Giving in? You are accusing your own child of trying to seduce you?

*Hiro smirks a bit.* When she is on her back, side, front, whatever, you are not part of the discussion.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, It's the truth. Of course she wouldn't tell you that part.

*His eyes narrow, fingers curl.* It makes me sick, thinking about you on her. Oh, you don't think so? You don't ever think that she asks you to do things that she thinks I would do to her?

She never asked you to call her little girl?

[identity profile] powered-otaku.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
And yet you have done nothing to make certain that her desires are properly channelled? That sounds like a man who has poor parenting skills.

Why should it make you sick, sir? If you have no desire for her, which, as a parent, you should not, then you should be happy that she has found someone else to be with, to take such hated attention from you. After all, that is a normal relationship between a father and daughter. You should be very happy to see her getting what she desires without having to involve you in it.

Of course, if it is merely bigotry, then I feel sorry for you.

[identity profile] stillavillain.livejournal.com 2008-08-22 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
So my worst crime is being a poor father, I'm more then willing to admit that I have made mistakes. I wasn't raised in the most healthy house hold.

*For a long time he's silent, clearly backed into something of a corner.* What father wants to hear about someone taking advantage of her like that. Plus she can do so much better then you. It has nothing to do where you're from, where ever that is, you people all look a like to me.
