Letter to the universe.

    To whom it may concern,

            I respectfully refuse this as monday morning.  I don't like it, and I don't want it, please take it back and give it to me in a couple of days.  Whoever thought, that was a long enough weekend is clearly on something, and I don't like it.  Please don't make me go to school.

I hate you mondays.  Sooooo hard.

It takes her a few moments to realize what actually happened and when she finally does she picks up a pillow and hits him with it. "I need more warning!" But she's grinning, and she nods. "Yes, you look very good very handsome."

"Sorry," he says sheepishly. "Do you want me to take care of Jonba while you get dressed?"

"Yes please, he's in his room down the hall." Slipping from her bed, she walks to the closet to get dressed, running her fingers through her hair as she did so.

"Ok, I'll take care of him." He goes to Jonba's room and knocks on the door before he opens it. "Cookie monster?"

Jonba sits on the floor with a book in his lap "reading" to himself. When he hears Hiro's voice he turns and smiles up at the older man. Scrambling up to his feet he toddles over to Hiro. He pauses before reaching him and then holds his arms up tentatively.

Hiro picks him up. "Do you want to go out to dinner, Cookie Monster? We are going to IHOP." He hugs him. "Then we were going to play miniature golf!"

Jonba has no idea what any of those things mean but he's just so excited to spend time with Hiro and be picked up. Nodding quickly he puts his stubby arms around Hiro's neck and hugs him. "Jonba pay wit He-woo?"

"Yes, we will play a game together, but first we have to get you dressed. It is a little cool out today." He carries Jonba over to the dresser and opens a drawer to find his shirts. "Do you want to wear blue, red or yellow shirt?"

Jonba studies his choices intently and finally points to the red shirt, "aka." He thinks that will go with his blue jeans and shoes perfectly. Plus the color blue is the devils color.

"Ii deshyo! Aka. He picks out the red shirt, then red underwear and socks. "Kuro no surakkusu?"

Jonba thinks about this for a moment and then picks at his blue jeans. "Jonba aoi no surakkusu."

"So," Hiro smiles and gets the blue ones. He carries Jonba over to the bed and helps him out of his current clothes. "Do you need to brush your teeth?"

Jonba shook his head no before picking up his shirt and trying to put it on all by himself. It was a bit of a struggle, but he managed to actually get it on without falling over. "No teef."

Hiro looks at his mouth. "No teeth? How do you eat?"

He does have teeth, he actually has a very nice set of teeth, he just doesn't brush them. Mom does. He points to a tooth, "ha."

"There are teeth in there. They need to be brushed. You have very good teeth." Hiro has very good teeth, too, which is not the norm in Japan, except that he's always had the best of dentists. "You do not brush your teeth?"

Jonba nods quickly and then reaches out to try and touch Hiro's teeth because teeth are endless sources of amusement. "No! okaasan brush toof."

Hiro lets Jonba touch his teeth, then makes very small chomping bites to pretend to eat his fingers. "Oh, should I brush your teeth?"

Giggling madly he pulls his fingers back and then nods before holding his arms up to Hiro once more.

Hiro picks him up and carries him to the bathroom. "Is this your toothbrush?" He points to one that's obviously too big.

"Nooo!" Giggling, he shakes his head and points to the cutest, littlest tooth brush there. "Jonba's toof brush."

"Oh, that is so cute!" He picks up the toothbrush, runs it under some water. "Do you have your own toothpaste?"

Why yes, yes, he does. Reaching down he picks up bubble gum flavored, children's tooth paste and hands it to Hiro.

"Ok," he says as he puts a bit of the toothpaste on the brush. "Is this the right amount?"

Nods and then bares his teeth so that Hiro can brush his teeth. Salome, who has gotten dressed, walks to the bathroom and leans against the door to watch the two of them.
