We like dancing and we look divine
Oct. 13th, 2008 05:09 pm1. How did you choose/create the muse you use?
You know, no one has ever asked me this question and I suppose it's because the people who know who and what Salome is are probably scared of the answer. It's like watching those really campy B-horror movies and you KNOW that blond with the fake tits shouldn't look into the closet because she's going to see the disemboweled body of her high school boyfriend in there. Then as soon as she does it - it turns out that there was nothing really in there, and you breathe a sigh of relief only to be startled when she gets knifed by the psycho when she turns around.
I jest.
I came up with Salome on a boat while I was down in the Bahamas. I drank too much, got too much sun and didn't catch enough fish and wondered how people would respond to someone who believed the abuse she was going through was okay and viewed it as normal. In my mind I had her continue on with the relationship with her father - but that changed when she stated to interact with real people who reacted badly to how she was raised. Sometimes I think about getting back to that original idea but things get muddled with different verses and to some extent I fear I've lost her voice which leads to question duo.
2. What do you hope to get from this community?
I'd like to find Salome's voice again, maybe find muses her age to play with and focus on her being a teenager for a little bit. It's difficult for her to be a normal kid given her circumstances but I would like to see her act like a teenager with real (for the most part) teens like herself.
3. What would you like others to know about your character(s)?
To say she's a little twisted would be an understatement. Salome is a victim of sexual and physical abuse by her father and has a child by him also. She keeps the fact about abuse in her life a secret though since most people don't react to favorably to it, if she does tell anyone anything it's that John Baptiste is her son and that's it. Any type of prompt having to do with her abuse will be posted in her personal journal and linked back to here with a warning. I may be a little bent but I'm not a complete whack job.
4. What would you like others to know about you?
I'm not a whack job? I work way too much, don't sleep enough, am currently obsessed with any music and movies made not in this decade (movies more then music) and in some twist of irony I'm losing vision in my left eye. In another twist of irony I don't know how to properly use the word irony. :D I put my dollar signs at the end of my numbers not the beginning. This is a major personality flaw.
5. What would you like to know about the other folks in this community?
Do you put yourself in your characters? What is your ultimate comfort food? When you were growing up, what movie could you watch over and over again and never get tired of?
