Aish'teiru yo! Subarashii! I did not know he ever sung in Japanese!

After American trends in music turned to Rock and Roll he went over seas where his music was still popular.

My father was a big fan of his. I grew up hearing much of his music, but I had never heard him sing in Japanese.

My dad liked him too, there's something about his voice. It makes me cry. Mona Lisa, Star Dust, Unforgettable, I can't think of a song he did that wasn't wonderful.

*Hiro nods.* He had a lovely clear voice, like one thinks an angel should have.

It's kind of a shame he died at 45 of lung cancer. But yes, I imagine. . . that's what angels sound like.

Yes, he left us too early.

Touches his hair. How are you?

*He curls one of her strands around his finger.* I am fine. A few upsets at work, but that is to be expected when there is a sudden change at the top.

Nods slowly and puts her head on his should.

*He gently plays with the curl he's captured.* Perhaps we should check in Japan and see if any of his records can be found. I know a few old record shops in Tokyo.

Mmm and sit out on the porch and listen to them together? That sounds like a lot of fun. Just relaxing sounds really nice right now. Slips her hand into his free one.

*He kisses her hand, then they find themselves in Tokyo near the Ginza.* This one was one of otosan's favorite stores. *It is a tiny place with wooden record bins stuffed with 78's, 45s and 33s. The rare ones hang behind the small counter in frames. The records are, of course, in Japanese alphabetical order. Hiro first goes to "Na", then goes to "Ki" when he doesn't find it there.*

Now this was something else. She starts looking next to him, before wandering off to look at something else. There are some crazy looking records around the store and some of them she tries *really* hard not to laugh at. She wonders if any other Japanese man or woman would think the same thing if they were put in an American music store these days.

*Hiro doesn't find anything in "Ki", so he moves on to "Ko".* Yatta! *He pulls out a few of them, checking to see if they're in Japanese. A few of them are, but most of them are imported American albums.*

Looking up, she grins and walks over to him to look over his shoulder at the albums. Some songs she can recognize, most of them are in English the others she can only guess at. Looks like you found some good ones!

Did Frank Sinatra do songs in Japanese? *He heads towards "shi".*

No. I think he played in Japan, but he never did songs in Japanese.

*He's still looking at the Sinatra albums. He finds a couple he doesn't have and puts them on the pile.* A pity. I would love to hear him sing in Japanese, too.

I wonder how he would actually sound, he always talked a little stiff and funny to me. Puts her chin on his shoulder.

*He grins as her chin rests on his shoulder.* What do you think of his singing voice?
